Waters’ Gen3 Monster Revealed

TICKFORD RACING –  MONSTER ENERGY RACING 2023 REVEAL
20 February, 2023
The penultimate Tickford Racing Gen3 Ford Mustang has been unveiled, with the familiar matte black and lime green of Monster Energy adorning the No. 6 Ford Mustang of Cam Waters for the 2023 Supercars Championship.

For Waters, who finished as championship runner-up for the second time in 2022, the upcoming season is one of immense opportunity. Armed with the support of Monster Energy for the eighth consecutive year, Waters is keen to hit the track for the upcoming campaign with his all-new Gen3 Ford Mustang.

“It feels like we’ve been talking about Gen3 forever, so it’s absolutely awesome to finally see the new Monster Mustang in the flesh,” Waters said. “It looks tough and sounds even better, if it races half as good as it looks we’ll be winning a lot of races, so I can’t wait to get it out on the track.”

With arguably the most dramatic change of car specification in the history of the category, 2023 represents a prime opportunity for Waters to challenge for his maiden championship, but the 28-year old acknowledges he’s not alone.

“It’s a huge year for the category, the new car could really shake things up,” Waters added.
“Everyone’s pretty much starting from scratch so there will be a lot to learn over the next few weeks in testing, and it’ll be anyone’s game when we get to Newcastle. I’m super pumped to get the season going, obviously the last couple of years we’ve been pretty strong, won a bunch of races and poles, but this year’s a great opportunity for us to take that next step. We’ve put in a ton of work to get to this point and will be working hard over the next few weeks preparing for Newcastle. No doubt we’re going to come out swinging and look to start our season with a big result.”

The new No. 6 Monster Energy Ford Mustang will hit the track again for an all-in test day at Sydney Motorsport Park on Wednesday before the 2023 Supercars Championship kicks off on the streets of Newcastle from March 10-12.
