TICKFORD RACING – CASTROL, TICKFORD EXPAND PARTNERSHIP
25 February, 2021
Championship-winning Supercars team Tickford Racing will expand its partnership with Castrol in 2021, marking its 19th season with the global giant in oil and lubricants. Castrol is one of three partners – along with Ford and PPG – that have partnered Tickford Racing since its first season in 2003, having direct involvement in all 74 race wins and 86 poles in the team’s history to date.
Castrol produces oil and lubricants for a vast variety of vehicles on land, sea, and in the air, and has been a prominent figure in motorsport, supporting numerous race and championship-winning teams around the world. In addition to the exclusive supply of oil and lubricants to the team, Castrol branding will also be seen in key positions on all three of the team’s Ford Mustangs across the 2021 season.
“Castrol is thrilled to continue its long-standing partnership with the championship winning team Tickford Racing,” said Jotika Prasad, Castrol Marketing Director, ANZ.
“We have been working together for nearly two decades and in that time have seen some incredible successes – from back-to-back Bathurst 1000 wins to Mark Winterbottom’s emotional championship, Castrol shares Tickford Racing’s passion and fervour for achieving the best.
“Castrol EDGE is synonymous with performance, and we look forward to working together to unlock the true performance of the Tickford Racing Ford Mustang’s throughout the 2021 Supercars Championship.”
Tickford Racing CEO Tim Edwards reflected on the team’s long-term relationship, which has seen Tickford’s Supercars run exclusively on Castrol oil since the team’s inception.
“We’ve enjoyed a fantastic relationship with Castrol over the years, and are thrilled to expand that partnership into our 19th season,” Edwards said. “Over nearly two decades we have exclusively used Castrol in our cars, transporters, and also in our machines and departments at our headquarters. In that time we have obviously achieved quite a bit together – on and off the track – creating one of the most successful partnerships in Australian motorsport. We have every intention of building on that success in the future, and we’d love nothing more than to mark the continuation of this partnership than by adding to our win and podium tally together this weekend at Bathurst. We are delighted to continue this relationship with Castrol, and very eagerly look forward to our bright future.”
The 2021 Supercars season begins this weekend with the Mount Panorama 500, February 26-28.
