Team Update – 18 March, 2020

Superloop Adelaide 500, Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, Adelaide, South Australia. Australia 23rd Feb 2020

To our fans and supporters,

As we have all learned, Supercars has elected to delay all racing until June, meaning our race events in Tasmania, Auckland, and Perth have been postponed in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This decision has come after several days of communication between Supercars, its teams, partners, and other stakeholders, and while we are all keen to get back to racing, we accept and fully support the direction taken here.

We are in unprecedented circumstances on a global scale, and we will continue to manage the immediate future of our team and championship as best we can in this fluid situation.

It remains our priority as a championship to contest 14 race events this season, and we are in the fortunate position that our schedule enables us to do so. Supercars and its stakeholders are working closely on a restructured calendar, which we anticipate will be formalised in the coming weeks.

Although we will be away from the track for a while, the battle will continue in the virtual world via a Supercars eSeries in which our drivers will get to compete with their rivals online and broadcast via Twitch, Fox Sports, and Kayo. We look forward to announcing these details in due course.

In the interim, we continue to encourage safe social and hygienic practices to minimise our chances at catching or spreading any illnesses, and we will keep you up to date with any updates in this evolving situation. Your support of Tickford Racing is more valued than ever, and we look forward to celebrating more successes on and off the track in 2020.
