RACING – STATEMENT ON STATUS OF THE MELBOURNE 400
13 March, 2020
Albert Park, Vic. – In response to the developing situation around COVID-19, the Australian Grand Prix event, including the Melbourne 400, will not go ahead as planned. This difficult decision comes in the interest of team staff, fans, and the general public, and we support the resolution reached by the event organisers and the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
Supercars plans to reschedule the Melbourne 400 for later in the year, and we look forward to sharing that information when readily available.
Tickford Racing CEO and Team Principal, Tim Edwards, says: “It is unfortunate that we will not be able to race this weekend, however in these unprecedented circumstances we support this decision made by Supercars and the Australian Grand Prix organisers. As a team, we had already taken several precautions to protect the health of our staff, fans, and the general public, and will continue to do so between now and our next race event.”
Any updates pertinent to our team, partners, and fans will be addressed in due course.
