SMP Pre-Brief

We head to Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend at the famous Eastern Creek circuit which will host all of the action under lights.

Sydney Motorsport Park is a big fast and flowing track, at3.9km long and a top speed of 265km/h.

Most of the lap is spent turning. It’s important that the car balance is right and that is carries good mid-corner speed, otherwise our drivers will be in for a tough race.

We’ll hit the track for the first time for a night-time practice session on Friday July 19, giving our fans a chance to catch our cars under lights after work.

Cam Waters forth in the Championship said:

“I’m excited for the weekend. I love racing at night under the lights, it feels heaps faster. We are coming off a great round in Townsville so hoping to keep the momentum going”.

ThomasRandle tenth in the Championship said

“Really looking forward to getting up to Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend.Traditionally it’s been a hard round for us but we are coming off a really strong event at Townsville. Looking forward to carrying that momentum into the weekend. I had a great couple of days in between rounds doing some driver training with Rob Wilson and I’m feeling sharp and can’t wait to get on track”.

Lochie Dalton will also be driving in the main game series this weekend in his WildCard entry.

“I am feeling excited with a little bit of nerves heading into my first ever Supercars round but mainly excited” – Dalton.

It’s the second round of the Toyota 86 series for Charlie Nash who will also feature across the race weekend.

For those wanting to catch all of the action, the event will be broadcast exclusively live and ad free on Foxtel and Kayo. Highlights will be broadcast on the Seven Network and 7plus.
