Sydney Motorsport Park – Day 3

Cam Waters took out provisional pole in qualifying with a 1.29.8144 lap around Sydney Motorsport Park. Thomas Randle missed the shootout and gridded up in eighteenth.
Waters pushed hard in the top ten shootout setting the fourth fastest time, only 0.1193 off Davison’s lap.

Race sixteen saw us run a one-stop strategy while WAU ran a two-stopper. On lap thirty-three Mostert made his way to the lane. Once that was completed, Waters became the effective leader of the race with a ten second advantage over Mostert with eighteen laps to go. Mostert chased Waters down finishing a strong second and the best of the one stop strategy cars.

After today’s result Waters sits fourth in the drivers’ championship, Randle seventh and we moved up to second in the team’s championship.

“We rolled the strategy with a one stopper and came home in second. It was awesome to get a podium” - Waters

“Stuffed up qualifying, made a rookie error at turn four. We started from eighteenth - Shooter and the guys did a mega strategy managed to finish in the top ten. We’re up to second in the team’s championship and moved forward in the driver’s championship. Been a successful weekend, two podiums, can’t ask for much more” – Randle

Lochie Dalton completed his first Supercars round as a wild card entry.

“Heaps of learning done this weekend. Had a great last stint today, we were the fourth quickest car on track with our lap times so pretty positive with that. Came home with a straight car. Keen to get back into my Super 2 car and finish off the year strong” - Dalton

Catch us at the next Supercars round in Tasmania, 16-18 August

Charlie Nash got up to thirteenth in race two but got a five-spot grid penalty for an incident at turn two. Nash worked his way forward from eighteenth in race three but had a mechanical issue finishing in twenty-eighth position. Round three takes place at Sandown, 13-15 September.
