Sydney Motorsport Park – Day 1

Main Game

Sydney Motorsport Park is a tough circuit for teams and drivers. The 3.9km circuit has long, loaded corners, tight hairpins and a long straight. Car set up is key to a having a great weekend.

In the only practice session at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend Cam Waters finished sixth, Thomas Randle eleventh and our wildcard entry Lochie Dalton finished twenty third.

“We rolled out well in the 90-minute practice. We had a plan we stuck to throughout the session and learnt quite a lot which was great. I think we are better than what we are in the time sheets. We’ll step it forward for tomorrow” – Waters.

“Long practice, it was good to run through our program. We had a slight issue on the front end in our race run, probably can’t read too much into that but the boys got it rectified. I probably didn’t maximize the green run at the end. I think we’re in the ten or there abouts. Need to find a little bit more and we’ll be good for qualifying tomorrow” – Randle

“I’m not feeling too bad after the first session. I was getting use to the car again after being in the Super 2 car. Wish I’d pieced it together better, but it’s all learning. It was a hard session as you couldn’t get out and look over the data. If we can put it all together tomorrow it looks pretty good” - Dalton

Catch us on track for qualifying at 2:50pm. The first 200km night race of the weekend, the 51-lap Race 15, will start at 7:35pm.

Toyota 86

Charlie Nash had some understeer in the car in practice one finishing in twenty sixth position. The team fixed the car and Nash got up to tenth in practice two before having the lap taken away for exceeding track limits. Nash finish position twenty-two and is ready for qualifying tomorrow at 2:15pm

“We struggled a bit in practice one, we had some understeer but we got that fixed up for practice two. Did heaps better in practice two, got up to tenth but found the track limits and got my time taken off. We are fast for qualifying so it should be good” - Nash
