Tickford Racing’s Elly Morrow will race in a striking blue and green livery in her sophomore season in the Dunlop Super2 Series, where the 23-year old will join Brad Vaughan in a two-car attack from the two-time Super2 championship-winning team.
Morrow joins Tickford following a 2022 season which was her first full season of car racing and included stints in Super2 and S5000. Although 2022 was marked as largely a learning year, Morrow impressed Tickford management at an evaluation day in late 2022, giving both team and driver confidence ahead of a 2023 campaign that includes six events in support of the Supercars Championship across Australia.
“I’m absolutely stoked to get the Super2 season underway with the team here at Tickford, and even more excited to do so with these awesome colours on our No. 6 Ford Mustang,” Morrow said. “The car looks fantastic and I’m really looking forward to getting up to speed. Obviously it’s going to be a big year with new Gen2 cars in the series, but I’m really excited to wrap my head around this Mustang and work with the team at Tickford and work with Brad as a team mate. We’ve gotten along well so far and obviously the team at Tickford have had a ton of success at this level, so we’ll work hard and hopefully find that magic combination to create our own success stories out on the track.”
The green and blue colours adorning her No. 6 Ford Mustang match those of steel specialist company Steeline, which manufactures and distributes a wide range of steel structures and products. Morrow’s No. 6 entry also receives support from lifting specialists B & M Cranes, coloured-steel manufacturer Colorbond, and lubricants giant Castrol, which has been a partner of Tickford Racing since the team’s inception in late 2002.
Morrow and Vaughan will head to Winton Motor Raceway in early February for pre-season testing ahead of the season-opening Newcastle 500, taking place March 10-12 on the streets of Newcastle.
