Castrol Racing celebrates new limited edition oil

TICKFORD RACING – CASTROL RACING GOLD COAST LIVERY
27 October, 2022
Thomas Randle’s No. 55 Castrol Racing Ford Mustang will sport a new look at this weekend’s Gold Coast 500, in celebration of the limited release of the “Castrol Racing Edition” Castrol EDGE 5W-30 A3/B4 engine oil. Featuring metallic red accents and the iconic “Castrol EDGE” logo on the doors of the No. 55 Mustang, the tweaked livery coincides with the release the limited edition Castrol EDGE product.

Randle himself has also acknowledged the occasion, having debuted a new helmet at the Bathurst 1000 which features the same “kaleidoscope” artwork found on the limited edition product, and in the Castrol EDGE television ads which have aired across 2022.

Castrol has an unparalleled track record in its Supercars/Australian Touring Cars Championship history, with 20 Bathurst 1000-winning entries having taken the checkered flag using Castrol oil. Over the decades Castrol has been associated with racing legends from Larry Perkins to Peter Brock, Greg Murphy to Russell Ingall, and Rick Kelly to Steven Richards. That legacy continues today with Tickford young gun Thomas Randle who features on the limited edition pack along with other Castrol Racing legends.

Jan Willink, Castrol ANZ Brand & Product Marketing Manager, is thrilled to welcome Castrol Racing’s new livery in concert with the new Castrol pack ahead of one of the most anticipated events of the Supercars season.

“To celebrate the launch of the limited edition ‘Castrol Racing’ pack of Castrol EDGE, it was only fitting that we pair it with a limited edition livery at the Gold Coast!” Willink said. “There have been so many iconic Castrol Supercars over the years, but this design might be one of the most eye-catching of them all. We can’t wait to see Thomas take to the track this weekend and unlock the edge of performance in the one-off Castrol EDGE Mustang!”

This weekend will be Randle’s second visit to the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit in a Supercar, but first as a full-time driver. The 26-year old is ecstatic about the opportunity to race on the famed streets, and is just as enthusiastic about the fresh shine on his No. 55 Mustang heading into the penultimate race event of his rookie season in the Supercars Championship.

“I’ve been really excited to go racing on the Gold Coast this weekend, and even more so with our new look on the Castrol Racing Ford Mustang,” Randle said. “We’ve added a little glitz to the car, and of course there’s no better place for it than on the Gold Coast, tying it in with the Limited Edition ‘Castrol Racing’ pack of Castrol EDGE makes it even cooler. I debuted a new helmet at Bathurst that includes the same artwork as the Castrol EDGE pack, so it’s cool to bring everything together for what will be an unforgettable event this weekend on and off the track.”

Castrol EDGE 5W-30 A3/B4 has long been Castrol’s best-selling full synthetic engine oil with the current generation of product specially formulated to deliver more power for the same fuel consumption. The limited edition pack of Castrol EDGE 5W-30 A3/B4 is available exclusively at Repco stores across Australia and New Zealand while stocks last.

Randle will tackle the streets of Surfers Paradise this weekend in his new-look Castrol Racing Ford Mustang at the Gold Coast 500, which hosts Races 31 and 32 of the 2022 Supercars Championship season.
